At Montessori Works, we understand that the early years are crucial in shaping your child’s future. Since our establishment in 1991 by a dedicated group of parents, we have been pioneers in offering high-quality Montessori education in a long day childcare setting, designed to foster independence, self-confidence and inner security in children from birth to six years.

Why Choose Montessori Works?

A Montessori Philosophy for Every Child

We believe that each child learns best at their own pace and by exercising their own choices within a thoughtfully prepared environment. At Montessori Works, your child will engage in activities that stimulate curiosity and foster a love for learning, all within a community that values consideration for others.

Holistic and Inclusive Curriculum

Our Montessori environment is rich with opportunities for growth in music, culture, art, craft, academics, physical development and practical life skills. Sustainability is woven into every aspect of our curriculum, which is carefully organised into multi-aged groupings: 0-3 years and 2-5 years. This approach allows children to explore and learn in a way that feels natural and engaging to them.

A Collaborative Community

We value communication with parents as an integral part of our program. Through weekly newsletters, daily updates and opportunities to engage with our curriculum, you will always be a part of your child’s learning journey. We encourage you to participate in activities that help build a strong, inclusive Montessori community.

Our Montessori Classrooms

The NIDO (“Nest”) for 0-2.5 Years

Our nurturing NIDO environment is designed specifically for babies and toddlers, providing them with sensory and motor materials that encourage exploration and discovery. With the support of warm, caring and respectful educators, your child will begin developing independence from their earliest experiences.

The Children’s House for 2-5 Years

In the Children’s House, play becomes the foundation for learning. Your child will develop through a series of five engaging activity areas:

Practical Life Exercises: Encouraging independence through self-care, care for others and care for the environment. Children learn the importance of completing tasks and contributing to their community.

Sensorial Apparatus: Awakening the mind to stimuli through the senses, allowing children to name and categorise the world around them.

Language Program: Introducing sounds, symbols and grammar in a meaningful way, setting the stage for reading and writing.

Number Work: Building a strong foundation in the decimal system, geometry and algebra.

Cultural Area: Exploring geography, biology, history, art and music, giving children a broad understanding of the world and its many wonders.
